Why Ziyada exists
“I asked where the leftover bread goes. ‘We throw it away,’ he said. ‘I’ve told management more than once — they ignored me.’”
— a diner in Riyadh, after a meal at a place he loved
The restaurant wasn’t careless, and the staff wanted to act — there just wasn’t an easy way. Ziyada is that way.
The scale of what we let go to waste.
The problem isn’t the intent of kitchens; it’s the missing channel. The numbers tell the story.

Ziyada is a routing layer, not another marketplace. You tell us what’s left; we get it where it’s needed before it spoils.

Sealed bread and baked goods go to nearby families and vetted charities; organic surplus goes to partner farms. The match is automatic.

Meals rescued, a record you can share, and a report that supports the Kingdom’s 2030 food-waste target.

Donation-first, not discount-first.
Most surplus apps help you sell what’s left at a discount, and that works for some kitchens. But a lot of good surplus isn’t meant to be sold at all — it’s meant to be given. That’s where we start.
Ziyada starts with giving. Donating is always free; we earn only when chains want the deeper layer — automated compliance reporting, multi-branch analytics, and optional resale where it fits.
And we don’t replace the national redistribution programs — we’re the easy front door that finally lets one tap of surplus reach them.
For every kitchen with good surplus.
Restaurants
Buffet leftovers, end-of-day plates, and uncollected orders.
Bakeries
Fresh bread and pastries unsold by the day’s end — the heart of what we start with.
Hotels & events
Surplus from banquets, conferences, and large iftars.
Catering
Prepared quantities beyond the actual headcount.
Impact & Vision 2030
Less waste, more blessing delivered.
The Kingdom has committed to cutting food loss and waste 50% by 2030 through its national Food Loss & Waste Reduction Program. Every loaf you route through Ziyada contributes to that path.
We give every business a clear record — meals rescued, carbon saved, and a compliance-ready report — turning what was a burden into a responsibility story your team is proud of.
What’s on your mind.
Is donating really free?
Yes. Routing surplus for donation is always free. We earn only from the optional layer for chains: compliance reporting, analytics, and resale.
Do I need an app or a contract?
No. A WhatsApp message from any staff member at closing is enough. You can start tonight without waiting on head office.
What about food safety?
We start with low-risk sealed bread, baked goods, and packaged items. Cooked food is routed only through accredited charities with a cold chain.
Who receives the food?
Vetted charities, families, and farms via accredited partners, prioritizing the closest to cut the time before it spoils.

First pilot · Riyadh · 2026
Start with tonight’s bread.
We’re opening the first pilot to a handful of Riyadh restaurants and bakeries. If your kitchen throws away good food, it doesn’t have to anymore.
Leave your details to start — the Ziyada team will reach out soon.
We’ve got your request. Thank you!
The Ziyada team will be in touch soon to start the Riyadh pilot.
